Pay Day Haul

Hi everyone! I have been so non stop recently juggling uni, assignments, my three jobs, cheer and a social life so my blog unfortunately has taken a back seat recently. But here I am, back with another haul!

My pay day was on the 9th so I understand that this post is a bit late BUT everything I will show you I ordered online, and one product only arrived this morning!! My whole mindset behind everything that I got was trying new brands, taking inspiration from the 'famous' bloggers/YouTuber's, and finding alternatives to what I already own. Despite it being my only day off in forever, I couldn't not try out all of these products in a new look, so spent the time to make myself over despite the fact that I won't be leaving the house today! I feel about 14 again when I used to do this just to take seflies to put on my Bebo!

Halloween - Creepy Clown Makeup

Hey guys!!

The big day is nearly upon us and I am getting way too excited!! I still haven't carved a pumpkin or anything so may make my boyfriend do it with me to get into the spirit of things. Speaking of my boyfriend, he has decided to go as a creepy clown for Halloween and is letting me do his face paint! I have decided to try out the look on myself first to not only see what he thinks, but so that I know what I am doing.

What you will need:

- White face paint or very pale foundation (and a translucent powder if using foundation) I use the Makeup Revolution Ultra Base foundation.
- White eye pencil
- Blue/red face paint (which ever colours you like)
- Red lip liner
- Black eyeliner (preferably one you don't mind using up)
- Black gel liner (Collection Lasting Gel Liner)
- Black eye shadow (from my Morphe 35W Palette)

Step 1

Prime your face as normal, you want this look to last! Outline diamond shapes and a larger joker style mouth on your face using the white pencil. Using the white will make it easy to clear up if things go wrong! I use a Natural Collections white liner.

Step 2

Fill in your face with the face paint/foundation around these outlines. Then set with powder. I use Collection Pressed Powder in 'Ivory'. I mixed the foundation with the face paint as the foundation kind of matched with my pale skin. You may want to colour in your eyebrows in white too.

Step 3

Outline the diamonds with the lip liner and then fill them in with your colours. I have chosen just to use red for this look, but if you want blue and red, obviously do one eye one colour and the other the different. The red liner I used was from a Ted Baker set.

Step 4

Outline the diamonds with the black eyeliner, and go over the inside with black eyeshadow. Using the brush drag the shadow into the middle. This can be as neat or messy as you like but I personally went for grungy and messy. Add some more red/blue if the colour is lost too much. I also added the red liner into my waterline of my eyes to make it look extra gruesome!

Step 5

Go over your smile with the red lip liner.

Step 6

Draw in the teeth. To do this I used my liquid liner and made 'n' and 'u' shapes. Try and press as lightly as you can, particularly around your lips. I didn't and messed it up a bit oops!

Step 7

Using your white liner, colour in the teeth but try to avoid touching the black lines.

Step 8

I'm going to leave the lips for now and contour my face, but if you want to do the lips to finish them then go ahead! Using the black eyeshadow I am going to contour where I normally would doing normal contour. I will add some eyebrow lines using my liner too. I also went round my mouth with black gel liner left on my brush to give it some dimension.

Step 9

Draw on a red nose, if possible add some white to it to give it some light.

Step 10

Add anymore shadowing you may want. I added it to around the diamonds and smudged the shadow down to my cheek. I also added some tears using my liner pen.

Step 11

Now for the gore! This is completely optional and if you don't want to use these steps and go for a circus clown then stop at the previous step! Use liquid latex (forgot how bad this smelt!!!) in parts around your drawn on mouth and wait for it to dry. This will give the effect that your mouth is falling off a bit. I'm thinking kind of American Horror Story: Freak Show clown here.

Step 12

Once the latex has dried, peel it off. Colour in beneath where you just pulled with red face paint. Then get your fake blood and line out and around the 'cuts'.

And you are done!

Sorry that the photos aren't of the best quality, the light in my room is questionable! Thank you as always and I hope that this look will inspire you!

Yours Truly, Kate x

Working For boohoo.com

Hey guys!

1 week until Halloween and I honestly cannot contain my excitement! I am definitely going as a skeleton, using my look I created here, and as I said for my costume I am going to keep it simple. I will wear a bralet which I bought from Ark last Halloween actually, and some skeleton leggings from boohoo.com of course. I also got some coloured contact lenses, one black pair and one white pair from a party shop in Leeds. They were only about £7 each which is really good considering some of the prices which I've seen online. As much as I would love to splash out on a costume for my favourite night of the year, being a student I simply cannot afford it. But I will make the most of what I have, and my best friend is coming up too so the night should be a big one!

Halloween - Skull Makeup

Hey everyone!

My favourite 'holiday' is fast approaching so I thought I'd do a step-by-step guide on how to do a skeleton face using makeup. This is my choice of character this year, and I want to incorporate some makeup techniques like contouring to it so it looks as realistic as it can!

What you will need:

- White face paint or very very light foundation
- Translucent powder (optional)
- An eyeliner or eyeliner gel which you don't mind using up
- Black eyeshadow
- White eyeliner

Autumnal MAC Lipsticks

Hey everyone!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the Autumnal weather going on, I know I am! Yesterday I went to Starbucks and had my first Pumpkin Spiced latte of the year - despite the fact coffee makes me ill, I had decaf and powered on through! I also bought some pumpkin soup from Sainsbury's which is Amazing!!! All I wanted was to snuggle up in a blanket by a fire eating s'mores and drinking hot chocolate! Unfortunately that was not the case as I was sweating my life away at cheer instead! Oh well a girl can dream.

Blogger Hangout - LFW

Hey guys! I know this is quite late but it has been Freshers week and I have been super busy so haven't found a free moment to write this properly until now, please forgive me.

On Monday, myself, the gorgeous Love From Florence Grace, and another girl we both went to school with, Bobbie all headed to London to go to the Bloggers Hangout at Beach Blanket Babylon for London Fashion Week. As I am a fairly new blogger, this was my first ever blogging event and it was the best first one! The Bloggers Hangout is a company who, like you can guess from their name, organise events purely for bloggers. This event was a beauty bar, so had lots of stools to do with beauty and health. All of the stools gave out amazing freebies to us all which I am so grateful for!

DIY Facial Scrub - Oily Skin

Hey guys!

Here is something a bit different to makeup, which is what I normally post about and is about skincare. Just quickly before I start, I did actually find out about this on someone's blog but I CAN'T remember who!! So if this is your advice and you are reading it, firstly I'm sorry for kind of stealing but secondly, thank you so much!!

I say this in every post I swear but I have such oily and spot prone skin. Even with a good skin care routine, and a prescription gel to put on every night, break outs are a very regular occurrence on my face. When I read about this DIY scrub I thought to myself why the f not about trying it. I doubted that it could make anything worse. Also this was like a week before my birthday and I was suffering a break out and was panicking! I could not have bad skin for my birthday, so gave it a go.

Nicka K Foundation Primer Review

Hi everyone, I hope you're well!

I'm very excited as it is my 20th birthday tomorrow!!! I will definitely fill you all in on that, and show you my gifts, outfits and makeup that I used during both the day and night.

Today I am writing a review about a lovely product that got sent to me, thank you Beauty Crowd Pro!! I had previously not heard of the brand, which is called Nicka K New York, but read into it and found out that is a makeup and cosmetics brand, originally based in New York. I originally presumed that they would be quite a small company as I hadn't heard of them but it turns out they have over 5,000 stores both in the states and also internationally! Browsing through their website I can tell that they like their vibrant colours as well as keeping it natural.

KIKO Contouring Pencils - Don't Rate

Hey everyone, hope you are well!

Todays post is a little different to the reviews that I have previously written about, I hope you don't mind but I think that it is good to be honest about products that may have not fulfilled your expectations. Just because this product did not work for me, it doesn't mean that I am right or that it wouldn't work as well for you. I don't want to offend the company either,  but here is my honest review.

KIKO is a makeup brand from Milan, Italy. Milan being a major fashion capital of the whole world you would expect a high standard. There are not many stores in the UK but we have a good sized one in Leeds.

Spectrum Brushes

Hi everyone!

Todays post will be a quick review of some brushes I received today in the post. My eye brush collection is seriously lacking; I literally had two! I'm not made of money at the moment either so wanted to buy which wouldn't break my already lacking bank. I found Spectrum! Check them all out here

NARS vs MAC. Foundation Review

Hello everyone!!

As you may have realised from my previous posts, I am quite obsessed with MAC. The majority of my posts mention the company and I am a huge fan, but today I will discuss my thoughts on them and a rival company; NARS.

Until literally about a month ago, I did not wear foundation. I got out of the vicious cycle of it

My Accidental MAC Splurge

Hey everyone, it's so close to Friday and I hope everyone is excited for the bank holiday!!

I decided yesterday that I was going to get the scary bus into Leeds city centre and get just ONE thing from MAC. The bus is scary to me as I am used to driving but don't have the car here when I'm at uni so feel like I'm 14 again going on the bus!! Due to this 'terrifying' ordeal, I decided to treat myself... God my justifications are awful!!! I shall now let you know about my experience and what I got, enjoy!

HUGE Sephora Haul

Hey there!

As it is everyone's least favourite day of the week, I thought I would try and brighten the mood by firstly saying that the day is almost over! And secondly, let everyone know about my pretty extensive Sephora (and a few other shops) haul. Apologies in advance at how long this may seem!

My Go To Contour and Highlight Kit

Hello everyone!

The latest trend at the moment is definitely contouring and highlighting and everyone seems to want to get their hands on a kit for it! There has been some debate as to what contouring is, and what products can be used for them, for example "can't you just use bronzer?" Firstly, bronzer is for warming up the tones of your face, to show where the sun naturally hits. The tones you can buy for bronzer are usually more orangey based, and lots have a slight shimmer to them. I use the Bronzing Powder in 'Refined Golden' and if you look at the colour of that you can see it is the wrong colour for contouring!

My First Post!

Wow then hi guys!!

This is all very new for me! I have some ideas for what future posts can be, however for my first post, I thought I'd let you know a bit about me.
